Job Description

This is an opportunity for an individual looking for a dynamic environment and a strong people-centric culture.  We take immense pride in being the best music retailer in the business and at the same time earning a reputation for an industry leading culture which relishes work life balance.

We are seeking an individual with outstanding attention to detail who recognizes that delighted customers are key to our success.  You will work hand in hand with the company’s Owner and President and can contribute to our success in ways which motivate and stimulate you.

Creative Music Center is one of the leading music retailers in the country.  In fact, we have been named amongst the Top 100 music stores by the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) ten of the last 11 years.  We were particularly proud to earn this honor once again in 2021, partially due to our nimble and empathic employee and customer approach during COVID.    CMC is a cherished business in the local community and is dedicated to enhancing the virtues of music education throughout the region (and nationally).   Our core business is to provide lessons, instrument rentals and products to the K through 12 market, and secondarily to support adult musicians.

You will be asked to manage our instrument rental business which is our number one revenue driver.   The position has multiple stakeholders you will have the opportunity to work with including primarily K through 12 school music teachers and administrators as well as Creative Music affiliates (half a dozen other music retailers who rent our instruments to their customers).  You will also trouble shoot with our buying customers (generally parents of local school students).    Importantly, you will be responsible for tracking our fleet of rental instruments and ensuring we are monetizing them successfully.

Please note that we are supportive of working remotely some of the time when mutually beneficial to the person and the company.

If you happen to be a musician, all the better.  We will find some ways to advance your musical aspirations along the way!
