Rental Program

Renting a quality, brand-name instrument is an inexpensive and practical way to get started in your school music program. Creative Music Center offers an easy and convenient rent-to-buy instrument program with affordable monthly rates that gives families the opportunity to “try before you buy.”

Our rental program has you in mind. With Creative Music Center’s rental program, every rental payments (excluding tax and insurance) are applied towards the purchase of your instrument. In addition, you get 20% off the balance (after all rental payments are applied) if and when you decide to buy. If you'd prefer to "step up" to a professional instrument, all rental payments can be applied to this purchase as well.

Monthly Rental Program - Best Option, Most Flexible

Creative Music’s rental program begins with an initial payment of either $27, $42 or $63 (tax and insurance are included), depending on the instrument type you choose, which covers the first month of the rental. The contract is then automatically renewed on a monthly basis. Best of all, while your contract is active, all of your base rental payments are being tallied in our computer system, helping you to build equity to purchase the instrument you are renting. or a better-quality performance instrument. Of course, you may cancel the contract at any time with no obligation (though you do lose your equity if the contract is cancelled). Our flexible exchange policy allows you to exchange the instrument for a different type of instrument, at any time, with all previous rental payments transferred to the new instrument, providing there is no break in the contract and provided the new instrument is of equal or greater value than the instrument you are currently renting.

At Creative Music Center, we know your child may want to switch instruments at some point. With the monthly rental program, switching instruments is never a problem. Simply bring in your student's current rental and we'll swap it out for another instrument type. For example, if your son or daughter started on flute and decides to switch to saxophone either mid-year or at the end of the school year, we are happy to make the exchange for you and transfer all of theequity from the flute to the saxophone, providing your rental contract payments are current.

School-year Rental Option - Budget Option, Less Flexible

As with most rental companies, Creative Music Center offers a reduced-price, school-year rental option. The school-year rental program for Category A is $149 (includes tax and insurance), for Category B is $219 (includes tax and insurance), and for Category C is $379 from the date of rental through June 15. All instruments must be returned by June 15, 2013. However, this program is significantly less flexible than the monthly option. First and foremost, the entire year must be paid in full, up front and there are no refunds whether you return the instrument after a month or after nine months. In addition, only 50% of the equity you accumulate from the yearly rental is transferred to another instrument if your child switches instruments at the end of the school year. Finally, the school-year option is only available to first-time renters.

Delivery Options

Pick up or delivery.

We offer two convenient ways to receive your rental instrument. You may stop in to the store, fill out the contract and pick up your instrument on the same day. Or, you may choose to drop off, mail or fax the form to the store and have us deliver the instrument to your child’s school.

Insurance

For a small, monthly fee, which is included in our contract price, we offer the peace of mind of Loss, Damage, Waiver (LDW) coverage. This insurance covers not only repairs but also complete loss of the instrument, providing the loss occurred as a result of theft and not a “mysterious,” unexplained disappearance. To make a claim, a police report must be filed within 72 hours of the loss. LDW does not cover broken broken strings or reeds, chipped or broken mouthpieces or other instrument “accessories.”

Band and Orchestral Books and Accessories

All accessories -- mouthpieces, strings, reeds -- come FREE with your Creative Music Center rental. Lost accessories can be purchased for a small fee at the store. You may also purchase lost accessories over the phone, and we can deliver them to school. Delivery is always FREE when you rent from Creative Music Center. The enhanced version of the school-required band method book, as well as the school-required orchestra method book, is also available at the store for a small fee.
